Ill just be glad when my Fly Bayt gets here and I can milk without straining flies out of it. As for the chickens, They make more mess than they are worth when I let them out.

Yup. And people living in Missouri who are originally from Texas (once an independent nation) can, too!

Notice it says MOST. How many of our products sold here in the US come from overseas? There are still fly strips out there that contain arsenic, so just watch what you buy. Wikipedia is a collaborative site - I could go out there and post the sky is falling - doesn't make it so

In my lifetime I have only met one person that was alive during the Civil War.
48 years ago I met a 105 year old lady that told me so much in 90 minutes.
I wish I had my old reel to reel tape recorder down in Missouri with me. Very few 9 year olds traveled with a tape recorder back then.

Piles of dead flies are great.
I remember one early spring when I was getting down some lumber from the loft in the garage.
I found clusters of flies that looked like they were just waking up.
There must have been 25 thousand flies there that I never let wake up.
It felt so good getting rid of that huge pile of flies all at once.

There is still a plethora of flies.

I live in south central MO. That's relatively "southern" to my way of thinking, which was developed in northeast IL.
I was suggesting that what was working for me (2 goats and and about 15 chickens) may not work for others more animals, more poop, more flies!

I'm so glad you posted this link. I was considering ordering it, but after reading about how toxic it is - especially to honeybees - and how long it remains in the environment, I'll deal with the flies. Thanks so much!

One suggestion we use 5 gallon paint strainers over our milking buckets to keep flies and debris out. We wash them every night with the milking pans so it is a great reuseable bucket cover, we attach it with a string of connected rubber bands held tight with a small caribiner so nothing can get into our milk. We got ours at Sherman williams and use the same ones we started with last year.
Take care - Thea
