Yup. You wouldn't keep a horsefly in the house. Don't keep irritating animals on your farm.

You are the adult human.

Truly you need a mentor. There so many ways to do things that you need to figure out what works for you. I'd start with testing and decide to keep or not. Feeding should be arranged so that you can put feed out and then give the goats access. Mobbing isn't fun. If you don't have adequate forage you do need to feed. Know or learn the feed and mineral requirements of goats. Get your numbers manageable before trying to breed. Best of luck.

Yes downsize the ones you dont want.
Test the ones you keep- CAE, CL, Johnnes-
read the Sticky on the subject at the Top of this Forum. And then think about your herd and how you want to proceed...
(we have three that we are keeping no matter what)...
Ours have on regular dog collars and the 2 we rehomed also had 4 ft of cable drag lines for ease of catching. We only have 2 acres but there is brush and brambles, they did fine...

Update

I am slowing working on changing the herd. I sold a few on craigslist with much back and forth with the people buying so I do feel better about where they're going (although who really knows for sure). I had some surprise oopsie babies in the summer and attempted milking that doe for about 2 weeks to see if I thought it was feasible. I got a nubian buck and I am breeding the two babies born in Jan that were born to the supposed "milk goat cross" in my herd. I am going to hopefully try my hand at milking in the spring. Although I still don't really know what I am doing, lol. I have them divided into 3 pens so there are only 4 at most in 1 pen. Much more manageable now. We shall see how the milking thing goes.....
