Really cute! I haven't gotten a goat yet, but plan to add them (probably a mom and newborn) next spring. I just recently bought the field fencing and hot wire to section off about 2/3rd of an acre for them but will take a while to get it put up. I also still have to close up one bay in the car port to make a 12x12 stall to shelter them in. I'm starting on that this weekend. Thanks to everyone for the tips and info on caring for them, as I admit I don't have a clue about them. I started growing fruits and veggies in the last 5 yrs., and expanded into chickens and rabbits since. So I guess goats are the next prepping project. I'm really excited to have the milk to experiment with cheese making!

Of all the farm animals, the goats are my favourite. Except horses of course. The goats are so full of personality and I love love love milking.

Is she more active yet? Most of the kids born here are bouncing off the walls (literally. Wish I'd had the camcorder with me.) by 48 hours old. If they aren't I suspect a problem. I've not had time to read the whole thread (or anything else at the computer for months) so forgive me if I'm asking questions already answered. Did the kid get Vit A and a tiny bit of Bo-Se at birth? Did her dam have copper and Bo-Se before kidding?

She's adorable, love the blaze face!

Oh - she's definitely bouncing off the walls! What's really cute is when she bounces off her dam, and stands on top of her. Bo-Se? She has some sort of loose mineral for goats over there that she free feeds.
