coso, I think that's the angle of the photo. Her vulva doesn't look like that, if I were to take a straight forward picture it wouldn't.

Here are pictures that should show the spot that you were talking about, Justine.

To me it looks like Betty isn't pregnant but Alice looks fuller in her belly area. I would bounce Alice and see if you can't feel any kids. But I am betting Alice is indeed bred and Betty isn't at least from what I can see in the photos .

No he can't and the ladies aren't in season. He's not my buck anymore. I honestly don't know how long he was around which is really messing me up.

Okay... question!
Ever since Alice supposedly got pregnant, lol, she doesn't want me to mess her her belly, ligs, tail, etc. She used to let me touch her anywhere, lol. Could this be a sign of pregnancy.?
I ask because I really don't want her to stay this way, I hope I can blame it on something! lol

Yes! Lol, I HATE being touched especially my belly when pregnant. I wouldn't be surprised if every other species in the world feels the same way sometimes.

LOL, that's funny. I just sat down in the goat stall and loved on her like CRAZY... there is no udder development at ALL, but her teats felt.. I don't know... I guess fuller. If that makes sense. I thought I felt something in her belly, but she was really twitchy and eating at the time, lol. So I'm not sure.

Did you bounce her belly? Also you never mentioned the latest date the buck was in with Alice and Betty . Might help pinpoint how far along Alice is...if she is preggers .

You have some lovely does. I usually check pregnancy by the size and shape of the vulva. If it is drawn up like a purse string and kind of flat, she isn't bred. If it gets slightly enlarged and very relaxed she is bred. From the pictures, one looks bred but not due for awhile and the other one doesn't look like she took. It sure isn't too late to get her bred. Nubians are great at breeding out of season. You don't have to wait for next year.

I hope you just got the dates wrong & have some adorable doelings born later but if not at least you got 1 baby although I know he's not a girl. I'll keep my fingers crossed for your girls to be pregnant.

Justine, I tried bouncing her, but she kicked up and ran away. Like I said, she DESPISES having her belly touched now. Grr! lol
Also, I don't have the date she was last in with the buck. I thought I did, but I don't. I was SO hoping I had written SOMETHING down, but I didn't.
Katie, thank you! I have mentioned this a thousand times... but from four years of breeding sheep AND goats... we never got one doe/ewe. NEVER. So frustrating!
Eli is already sold, too, so there is not even a baby face to look at, lol. Every time I see that a goat had a doeling, I just fill with jealousy. LOL
Alice is a year round breeder. She goes into heat all throughout the year, but it's very irregular so I never expect it.

Well some of my does do get much touchier about me handling them while pregnant. Honestly what I would do for peace of mind is draw blood on both Betty and Alice and send it to Bio-Tracking . If they where my does that is what I would do instead of second guessing myself. It won't tell you when they are due but at least you will have peace of mind knowing .
Justine
PS: I still think Alice is preggo though .
