Yep, well,

Tonight I'm watching the gal that as I said earlier is always having to have her babies pulled. I hate to do that, but she really clamps down and I usually end up having to do it. I have just spent an hour with her with the first little bit of clear fluid starting and the white and purple cord hanging out. I have come in to get warmer clothes on and feed the babies that I have here in the house and them I'm headed out and if she hasn't started in earnest, we're going to get her started, cause I don't want to do this again. So far I have 9 nice babies and one tiny one and have lost 3. I have 3 more to go after this one and I want to try to keep them all. This is 3 this year that would have given me triplets, so now I think next year will be even better! I can't wait to show you all, all of the babies. Well, I'll keep you posted on my old Suzie girl. This may be her last year, but we'll see how it goes.

Nehimama, I think you are right. If I had waited much longer, they wouldn't be around tonight. The little buck also has a little black eye, I think both eyes are black, like a disjointed mask. He may get the name of Lone Ranger! LOLOL
nehimama and dozedotz like this.

Okay

Well, Suzie just gave me 2 big boys, both dark copper heads and just beautiful. They were doing well when we left. I used the blow dryer and dried the ears and feet, and mom just kept right on licking while I was drying. We work well as a team. I had to pull the first one and she was just like a trooper. She knew what was coming, we have done this together for the past many years and she just didn't give me any problems at all. She's a great girl!

Your experience is showing! Good for you for saving the doe and buckling. What a nightmare when they decide to all come at the same time and block each other...honestly don't think anyone could have done it better!

Sounds like you are doing great. I'm hoping my kidding season doesn't have anything like you experienced.

me either

Doug, BUT just in case, keep that alcohol and vaseline ready and don't wait, go in when you even suspect there might be a problem. I waited plum too long, but I won't again! I still have 3 to go. I'm not sure how much longer I can take this up all night stuff, we're now in our second week of it! LOLOL

My first babies are like horses now! One is drinking 1-1/2 bottles 3 times a day, 2 are drinking 2 full bottles and I'm thinking I'm going to have to up that on them a little bit and one is drinking a full bottle. I have to go out and work with Suzie tonight. She's not feeding one of her babies and it seemed okay at first, but now the size difference just since last night in the 2 of her babies is very clear, so we're going to figure out what's going on. I think it is the baby's problem cause mom is talking to him and cleaning him and comes to his rescue and everything. I think he just hasn't (pardon the pun) grasped the concept yet!

Thanks everyone for your support for my efforts. I love my baby goaties, but I'm always glad when kidding is done for the season!

Why do you have so many bottle babies? Do you bottle some of them to make them tame??

Sorry I didn't get back on to help you out before, but looks like you got it pretty well sorted out. I have been out of town...

Well

I have mothers who are not accepting their babies this year, or the one littlest one I was afraid couldn't stand the cold so I brought her in. I have 5 bottle babies so far. Two of them came from a FF who didn't accept her babies, 1 is the littlest one I talked about and the other 2, the mothers just rejected them for some reason and it was too cold to stay outside and try to impress it upon the mothers to take them, so I'm feeding them.
