She really wants to leave her with her Momma as she does not milk the goats. So, taking the baby away would leave full udders and problems. Our little guy is doing really good, he loves getting wrapped up in a blanket on my chest and falling asleep at night He is starting to run around more and the kids crawl around with him, lol! It is truly CUTE... I think they have decided on naming him Zorro? I will post some more pics soon...

So, the little guy "Zorro" is doing really well and eating more everyday. We take him out to nibble the grass and he has alfalfa hay with at all times to nibble. When should we start offering him other feed?

You shouldn't need to give any feed, just the hay and grass is good. I would also offer him some water with the hay.

We leave a shallow bowl if water and hay with him at all times. We take him outside to nibble grass while we are taking care of the farm

I am confused...even if she pulls the kid at 5 weeks she is still going to need to milk some from momma until she drys off??
Congrats on the little Zorro, bottle babies are so much fun and nerve racking at times too ;P

I start feeding hay and grain to kids as soon as they'll take it. I use a lamb starter and mix it with alfalfa pellets. The starter has ammonium chloride and is balanced 2:1 calciumhosphorous already for growing wethers. I pretty much free choice kids for a long time.

The little tike is doing GREAT! I call him kiddo - my one son calls him Zorro - the youngest boy calls him Zeus - my husband calls him Titan... No really agrees on one I guess... LOL! This is the little guy taking in some sun at the back door Sunday he was falling a sleep and his head would drop almost to the ground and he would startle himself and then wake up cry look around and back asleep he was...

Oh, he is adorable! Wish you could find an age-mate for him, though...

No matter what you name him, he's a little heart-stealer, he is!

I sure wish we could get him a friend... He likes the cat... lol! Awe, thank you... I knew he would be little but OH MY when we went and got him at 7days old, he stole my heart and his little innocent soul.
