Recovery is coming along well . I am almost back to normal and next week I should be returning to work. I saw my surgeon/doctor on Tuesday for my post op and we talked about what she saw during surgery.

So it was an endometrial cyst in my right ovary. She also cleaned out a bunch of endometrial tissue and scarring from the endometrial tissue. I mentioned that I must have had it for a while and she said yes I most certainly had. I asked how bad my case was and she said that she normally rates between 1 and 4 (4 being the worst) and she said I was a 2-3 but heading towards 4. I had a moderate to severe case but thankfully it hadn't started growing on my other organs yet though it looked to be heading there.

But as of right now I am all cleaned out, scar tissue is removed and I am going on birth control (as much as I don't want to) to help control the endometriosis. This also will preserve my fertility so I can have children when I choose to do so, as well as help with my painful Aunt Flo visits (YIPPIE!). I am going to see my doctor again in 3 months to check up on how I am feeling and how this birth control is working for me.

The funny thing is she mentioned I have a high pain tolerance considering how severe my case was, I have always said that is both my blessing and my curse! I am just thankful I found answers to my issues and that it is treatable. Forgot to mention! I got to see pictures she took during my surgery! So cool looking and I got to see all the endometrial tissue as well as how large my right ovary was before the cyst was removed and how small it was afterwards, very neat stuff to see .

I'm happy for you that it wasn't malignant, and that recovery is going well. Please have regular checkups to watch for changes.
