Everybody cross your fingers, toes, legs, arms, eyes...

You have a good GPA and lots of animal experience. If you want to try to get more hours, call around and just ask for a couple hours one day to shadow. It would get your foot in the door and if you like the practice, you'd be in a better position to ask for more shadowing hours.

Any chance you could find someone to take care of your herd (or part of your herd) in exchange for all the meat and milk? I'm imagining there might be some have nots in your parts that wouldn't mind exchanging work for provisions, particularly if you were available by phone for some advice now and again.
Just a thought.
