There is padding (surgical padding) under the PVC to protect his leg. We'll be removing the splint tomorrow and checking for sores (per my vet's instructions), and then every 2 weeks after that for 6-8 more weeks, though I hate to keep putting him through that, poor guy. My vet doesn't want him bearing any weight on his leg, so we're also going by her instructions there, as well.
