HA I knew there was some frosty in there of course some where back just about all Nubians do so I kinda cheated. Kinda didnt expect the Kastdemurs with the height issue but some of those lines are a bit shorter than others, but really going hummm on her being so petite but shes got time yet.
Have either of her parents been tested for G6S?

and I was sitting here thinking she didn't look frosty or amberwood either one to me LOL (I have quite a few Amberwood and have had more in the past...they ALL have the same head...this doe doesn't have it)
......BUT..she does sort of have what Joan calls Marvin blonde..I get it often with both Amberwood and Copper-Hill lined kids....

congrats on your new doe

Glad you pipped in Yarrow as I was thinking many of those lines where used in Amberwood in their program I just couldnt remember and half way looking through things my one year old busted a pen and finger painted herself and my sofa in no time flat.

Her dam is GS6 normal via parental testing and her sire tested normal as well. Good idea on doing a fecal ASAP, good chance to try out my new USB microscope I bought just to learn to do fecal tests.

Living this close to Joan... we've had the chance to spend LOTS of time talking pedigrees over the last few years (talk to her about every other day, now adays.. She *retired* back during the summer...BUT.. is already semi-un-retired LOL.. got one of her Lamancha does back (getting another one soon).. I gave her a black nubian doeling (that is now spoiled rotten LOL)... it's been so fun hearing about all those goats that were just names and sometimes pictures.. (I **LOVE** pedigrees.. spend lots of time researching ect).. tales of Joan and Marvin's owner Barbara Thrasher adventures together.. so much fun.. I have had the pleasure of owning/owned 5 different Amberwood does and 4 or 5 bucks that carry her herd name.. Have 2 yearling bucks now and a older doe.. bred a doe that was out of my first Amberwood doe Shelly, to a Amberwood son (whose grandsire was also Amerwood.. Amberwood Jedi Winter Frost)..kept a doeling from that breeding.. she looks EXACTLY like her grand dam Amberwood Thor's Sheleen.. except instead of being brown.. she's black with lots of white...

I love the size, the temparment and especially the extended fore udders I get with the Amberwood lines.. (most of my herd has Jedi Winter Frost .. he has always, been my buck of choice when searching for kids to add to the herd)...Most of the Copper-Hill goes back to Jedi Winter Frost or Amberwood Jack Frost Northwind.... So many lines go back to Marvin.. Pruittville doesn't have much (they go back to Price-O-The-Field which didn't really use Marvin..neither did Brown Sugar's Crown Ambassador.. who Kastdemur's bred off of.. (I actually like the way those two lines blend with my old lines.. haven't had as good of luck mixing Price-o-the-Field into my lines) I know there is always talk of Marvin anytime someone mentions G6S.. BUT.. I will say I have NEVER had a heavy Marvin lined nubian come back as even a carrier.. everyone has tested normal.. so who knows what lines to really be leery of.. (I think the thing to do is TEST them ALL.. if everyone did, G6S would soon become a thing of our past)...

again, I think she's a nice little doe.. hopefully you can get her up to size (just weighed my six week old kids this morning for their baycox.. they are all 28-32lbs.. so 70lbs as a yearling is light!!)

I have lots of Marvin and jedi winter frost back in my herd as well. Oldies but goodies. I like that little doe. She is small but the genetics are still there. I think she is a pretty little thing. I think her rump will also level out more with age.

When and exactly where is it? I don't know if I can get away but I'd love to go if at all possible.
