Give the kids a bit of BoSe or the selenium and Vit E paste to help get them up and standing. Glad everything worked out. The dates may also be wrong on your other doe so something to keep in mind.

In my other post I said to give her a 1/4 c BoSE. THAT is SUPPOSED to be BOSS or black oil sunflower seeds. Sorry I'm sick and have no sleep so I didn't proof read at all. The BOSS will help her gradually get her weight back and get her coat shiny again.

Glad that things seem to be taking an upturn.

Sounds like nutrition needs to be addressed. As Wintrrwolf noted, the loose stool is due to the dietary change. Probios will help with that.

Goats don't do well on cow hay. They need more calcium and protein. Lespedeza and alfalfa are good choices. If you don't have access to good goat hay, then you can feed alfalfa pellets and giver her some tums if she'll take them.

Yarrow is right: CMPK will help in her recovery.

Good luck with those little guys, and in building up your gal.

I figured you ment BOSS and not BoSe.

Why is it the boys always seem stronger? They both had another 2 oz this morning. It was cow colostrum though. But it is something. The doeling's water-works is working just fine. My jeans are in the washer with the proof LOL. That is why I have hard wood floors. Now, to get figure out how to get a diaper on them.....

Oh yes, photos. They suck! Both are pitch black and have grey ears, rings around their eyes, and a spot on the forhead. So, when they are laying together, they blend in and it looks like one baby with 8 legs and two heads! They are cuddled up sleeping right now. Later this morning I will try to get a few better photos.

How much should newborn babies weigh? These guys seem tiny, but it may just be me.

This time of year none of my neighbors have alfalfa. I may be able to get pellets though, it is not common here locally. You would be surprised what you cant get around here. If her dates would have been correct she would have been out foraging in creeks for two months before her due date (which is what I had planned on) in addition to the hay and oats. And her stool is back to normal this morning. So is she! Already trying to push her way around again. Placenta past just fine and is cleaned up. As soon as I went out this morning she jumped to her feet and came to say hi. So she feels a ton better.
