oh yeah...go ahead and milk her...between her having been sick AND kidding early..you might not get a lot...keep at it and her production should increase...starting off slow will give her body more time to recover from the toxemia.

oh shoot Sorry about the babies but you really did make the right call on this!!!! You saved your doe and that is what good goat mamas do. This could have really turned into a train wreck for Rhaps and now she is doing good. She is thankful. I don't know anything about toxemia but I can't imagine it was something you did wrong to bring it on. Heck I was feeding Gretta sweet feed all through out her pregnancy and I wasn't even measuring it. I had no clue...I'm kinda glad I didn't have a clue now! I was nervous enough!
(((hugs))) Go snuggle with Mia's babies...that will help

Oh Justine.....I'm so sorry. But I love the fact that you goat mamas put your does first. Wish more dog and cat people would put their mamas first. You made the right decision. Good job. But I'm sorry about your babies. :-(

Thank you so much everyone, it was a hard birth to be there for . But seeing Rhaps doing well and finally feeling better helps me. She passed all the placentas and seems doing be in good spirits (though me being her naughty baby I won't stay with her ).

Now we are just waiting for poor Ms. Penny to kick things into gear and hopefully Zoe Bird as well. Trinket isn't due until Thursday so we have a ways on her. Tonight I plan on actually getting a large block of sleep without getting up every 2-3 hours. It will be magical....
