sorry that it has been so long since I have checked this thread. Anita (who we had pegged to kid on 4/2) kidded on 4/3in the early AM. The girls are kept separate from the boys, and there is a chicken pen in between the boy pen and the girl pen, so they don't have any amount of fence that they share. I can see the kid(s) kicking, and she is starting to act different. She is rubbing on fences alot, laying down alot, but eating super well. Her udder seems to have grown today, and there is a SMALL string of snotty looking stuff hanging out of her ooh hoo tonight. I was FINALLY able to get my hands on a dose of dex and lute, but it was almost impossible. Vets kept saying let it happen natural, no matter how overdue she is. Then I was told not to use it on the weekend so that if she had trouble it wouldn't be a weekend call. (Which costs the same as an after 5pm call).
Anyway, Dot is doing fine, and it seems like she may be trying to prepare to do the deed herself, so I will check on her in the morning. I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she took later than we thought she did.
However with the other doe coming in right on time I don't know what to think except Hallelujah for the small miracles that she had such an easy time with her first birth!
Stll working on pics of those kids, and will definitely update here when I have more info.
Thanks for your concern, the support means more than you know!
