Thats not entirly true.
One of the keys to identifying preditor attacks are the location of injuries and deaths. Dogs attacks are long and the heard will generally be scattered.
In early spring young coyotes that are learning to hunt will attack in "dog" fashion and sometimes will not return to eat their kill.
Coyotes, foxes, and bobcats will keep their kills clean. Your stock will be all in one place and you will at least see one fatality because they are better preditors that dogs.
