Again..congrats..she is a real cutie. Sure glad she kidded today for ya!
That's what I was thinking that she just needed time. But she just kept head butting her and at one point was getting ready to stomp on her. I just came from the barn and she is out there hollering. It makes me wonder if she is looking for her . Not sure what to do! I don't want to make the wrong decision and then end up with a dead baby goat. I don't mind bottle feeding, but I feel guilty if she really does want to raise her. I've had the baby in the house since about 30 minutes after the birth. I was going to take her out to the barn, but was afraid she might not be able to handle the temp changes between the house and the barn.

Did you dry the doe with a clean fresh towel? If so that could be your problem. I learned you have to not use fragrance detergents and softness when cleaning babies. Moms work by smell. I use hay and wood chips now to scrub babies down with. The towels are the last resort.

I used puppy pads that I had bought from Goodwill the day before LOL. I took the baby to the barn today and the momma wasn't too interested in her. She wasn't mean like the younger doe's, but if this makes any sense she was more interested in ME than the baby. I think she's going to be an awesome milker
