Well... it's his bank account!

But yes, I'm insisting and he's agreeing, so this is progress.

Annother thing that will shine up a goat's hair coat is whole flax.
And yes, zinc is a major contirbutor to the health of the skin and coat.

Sounds like a lack of vitamin/minerals and you are on the right track.
Good luck! Let us know how it works for you.

I also think the Replamin Plus gel is Great & would surely improve the coats of all your goats. Mine love it right out of the tube like it's a treat!

Nah, it's more of a situation of my employer pays only once per month instead of twice, and how we've allocated the bills and what money goes where. Technically, my bank account is out. And I wouldn't spend any out of his without consulting him first; last thing we need is an overdraft.

He also is a lot more comfortable with animal husbandry than I am, having been raised in the country. I'm kind of transplanted from the suburbs, and so I read a lot of books and get a lot of info on the internet. Which, to be fair, has a lot of bad information as well as good information. I personally like this forum the very best, because I feel like it has the most people posting who really know their stuff, versus what DH terms "armchair quarterbacks." He does a lot of internet research himself, and runs into this frequently.

On this subject, he, like me, was totally sold on the product because of this thread and the before/after pictures on it (I would LOVE to see more pics from other people!):

Replamin Plus Before & After Pictures

I adore that stanchion, by the way! It looks far more sanitary than a wooden one, and would be so much easier to clean.

Question on the Replamin - SHould you add additional calcium to it to make sure it has the proper 2:1 ration for bucks and wethers? I noticed the phosphorus was pretty high.
