Goats are individuals just like people.

I had a couple friends, one passed out at the sight of his own blood no matter how little blood there was.

One passed out when he would get a shot.

Maybe that goat is like them.

Well I went out and disbudded the ND and then finished the pygmy up. she is a strong little bugger. It all went great, no problems at all, Which makes me think she was choked out with him trying to hold her head still.
Thanks everyone I was a mess over that. But glad no problems this time.

I wait until I can feel the bud. Most of the doe kids are between 2 weeks to a month before I can feel buds. Just depends on how big they are when born. Bucks are 7-14 days depending on size at birth. 90% of our kids are between 1-3 lbs at birth. So the bigger they are the sooner I feel buds. Very seldom do I have kids born where I can feel the buds.

I would just leave the horns alone. If you keep the kids friendly, bottle feed the ones you are keeping, and just make them love you, then you don't need to dehorn them.
