Well I hope the Nuflor kicks what ever is wrong with Squirt. I know what it's like to have to drive far for the vet. We have 1 that we use for the dogs & our barn cats & I have used them for my goats too a few times & it's almost 30 miles one way for them.
The vet I really like is much closer only about 12 miles.

oh cripes. Do they have an emergency number on their answering machine that you can call to get the nuflor? He probably lives close to the clinic and it would be easy for him to get it in the pickup box for you.

Nope.

I called the clinic number and all I got was the recording saying the clinic was closed until Monday.

The recording gave a couple of numbers of other clinics to call in case of emergency.

I did leave a message but I haven't gotten a call back.

I know I need to find another vet and there is another one that I went to once when I had an emergency with a newborn kitten I was bottle raising. That clinic even has weekend hours (both Saturday and Sunday - no after hours charge) and I really liked them but they are strictly small animal.

So, that leaves my vet, the one I mentioned yesterday, and one other that is a little farther away than the second one, for my goat work.

The thing that I worry about if I switch vets is that so many insist on seeing the animal before they will give out medications. The vet I've been using doesn't seem to have that policy - I've always been able to walk in the door, describe what is going on with cat, dog, or goat and walk out with medications. That helps when you have multiple animals and aren't rich.

I'll call the vet first thing tomorrow morning and run in and get the Nuflor and give him the two shots anyway. He seemed to be feeling fine last night when I fed; at this point, if it weren't for the snotty nose, I wouldn't even be concerned.
Minelson likes this.
