She doesn't look fresh in the photo. Is she?

ETA, reason I ask is because milk cysts tend to go away when a goat is not fresh. If it is there and she hasn't freshened and doesn't have any engorgement, then it is most likely a spur.

No she's not fresh. She'll freshen for the first time in about a week. I noticed it on her when she was a couple months old.

I emailed her breeder and she's put some of my fears to rest. I have a plan now. Thanks ladies for the information and support! I love being part of a forum with other crazy goat ladies

One of my does is accident prone...she is CONSTANTLY getting herself injured.

She managed to poke a hole in one teat, and it took me nearly a month to get the dang thing to close up and heal. Especially with the constant leak of milk.

Then she showed up with a cut on the OTHER teat, also leaking. Two weeks to get that one squared away.

Now, she has scars on both teats. These look like bumps....and they look a LOT like that picture of your doe.

So, perhaps your doe injured that teat in some way and it is a scar bump?

Caliann I hope that's what it is. Maybe as a tiny kid, who knows.
