Kid pics....

My Nigerian Doe finally went into labor a week late. Nothing came out so I went in and found a kid's nose, she was tucked up in the top with some sort of mass that had closed off the horn. There was no way to get the kid through the tiny hole.We figured either scar tissue or cancer. We had 3 goat friends come over to help. She did have skin cancer, possibly inside too. She ended up being put down and we got the baby out, thankfully it was alive after all that.
A beautiful little doe 3.8 lbs....So here are a few pics.
The night she was born.
Introducing her to the pygmy Twinkle. Twinkle was not very impressed with the new one. and a few other pics, just cause they were cute.

Adorable! and sorry about losing the dam.

harvestmoonfarm 01/11/13 10:09 AM

OMG, they're adorable! So sorry about your doe :(

thaiblue12 01/11/13 10:17 AM

Aww they are cute and I love the coloring and socks on the Nigie kid.
Sorry you lost your doe, glad you got a doeling to remember her by.

fadedpolaris 01/11/13 10:28 AM

Aww, sorry 'bout mama, but at least your little doeling is safe and sound. :)

I am happy to have a little doe. Dam was all white and Sire was all black so she is a pleasant surprise. Plus she has dark skin so shouldn't have issues with cancer.
I had a feeling for quite awhile that there was something wrong. Could never feel kids while bouncing and no kicks. I wondered if she was really pregnant, until her water bag broke. But I knew she hadn't been in heat since the buck got out in Aug.

I'm so sorry you lost your doe {{{hugs}}} but glad you were able to save the doeling. She's adorable and your Pygmy is to die for. Lovely babies!

the pygmy is a smart little stinker. She figured out how to open the little pen I keep them in. and would run around the house leaving the ND crying. I would put her back and she would run in and nibble on the ND's ears so she would cry. I finally cleaned up the kennel and put them in it. She is mad at me now.

GoatJunkie 01/11/13 11:18 AM

I'm so sorry to hear about your Mama goat, but oh oh oh what adorable kids! Seriously cute!

Squeaky McMurdo 01/11/13 01:09 PM

Oh no! Was this Fannie from your Baby Belly post? And (((hugs))) you are just not having much luck with your does are you? I hope the next ones go without any problems.

At least your two little orphans have each other and in time I'm sure they will be the best of friends.

Yes this was Fannie. Yes I am happy that I have 2 babies to keep each other company. They started cuddling together yesterday and are now too fast to take pics of.

Congratulations on a healthy baby. That was quick thinking. Both could have died trying to save them both. I am so sorry you lost the doe.

nehimama 01/11/13 03:04 PM

Sorry about the dam. Those kids are just illegally CUTE!

Frosted Mini's 01/11/13 03:45 PM

Can you send me the dam's registered name? If you want, you can PM it, if you don't want to put it on here. It's just that I know a guy in UT that has had 1 or 2 ND's that had skin cancer, and was wondering if they were related to your doe. I'm sorry you lost her, but glad you were able to save the doeling!

Minelson 01/11/13 03:47 PM

Jeepers! You are having a bad luck streak I'm so sorry (((hugs))) :(

But the babies sure are adorable! I am so sorry for your loss

emanuelcs34 01/11/13 04:10 PM

I am blaming it on 2012...we had a rough year. I believe 2013 will be a better year.

I haven't taken her off the website yet. Her Registered name is Neightnkevs Z Francis. I know her mother had Cancer and at least one other from that herd.
I am happy to say that I now have 3 daughters from her. and none have the light pink tail head. So I think we will be ok. at least for a little while.

Minelson 01/11/13 04:14 PM

YES! 2013 will be better. :)

Oat Bucket Farm 01/11/13 07:41 PM

That new little doeling is 1 lucky little thing, so glad you were there when the water broke.
Seriously though those 2 babies are both so darned precious! So glad they now have each other & that you have them.

LFRJ 01/11/13 10:25 PM

I would say, after what you've been through, you DESERVE the cutest doeling born on this forum so far. Really sorry to hear about your doe. Glad the doeling made it alright. She is most adorable. Love the coffee colored Knee-Highs.!

Frosted Mini's 01/12/13 01:33 PM
