You can't say anything that could be considered an ethnic slur, like "honest to i-n-j-u-n", "s-p-i-c 'n span", etc. "W-o-p" was once an ethnic slur towards Italian-Americans.

The language filters are weird. I've been here 7 years, and I am STILL finding words that I obviously don't know the "other" meaning to getting blanked out.

Midwife gave her some homepathic things last night which sped things up, but I think she will strip her membranes today. That doesnt sound comfortable... But then again neither does pushing a baby through ones pelvis!

Yikes, what does that mean? I'm pretty ignorant. I had my only child 43 years ago when at least in northern Indiana it was pretty much the hospital, period.

I guess they can actually go in and strip the membrane from the cervix. Diana, her midwife is so uninvasive, it was a seriously a last resort. She decided against it. Baby is still doing well, so no need to rush. I sent all the prayers and good wishes from you gals her way!

My last Baby was 20 hours of hard labor and 3.5 hrs if pushing. She was one of my smaller babies! My 9 pounder was easier to get out.

Tell her not to feel too down. My first one I had regular close contractions (3 mins apart at one point) but not really painful for 24hr a week before her due-date. I was soooo frustrated when I found out I wasn't progressing at all. She ended up coming on her due-date exactly. I had both my daughters as homebirths with a midwife. 2nd one I had even more false labor & it can be very frustrating! thankfully actual labor and delivery went very well. Also I hemorrhaged a bit with the second but my midwives knew exactly what to do and I didn't need to go to the hospital.

I wonder if it is because she was small. Like, her smaller size made her not push against your cervix as well.

I know when my daughter was born, it was somehow easier to push the further down she got.

Big head and not enough weight behind her to follow threw. I had to push with my ankles at my ears. Worked like a charm. Wish midwife would have remembered the maneuver 3 hours prior lol.

OK guys, sorry I haven't give you ANYTHING to go on! She is in serious labor now. We all left the house so she could settle down and concentrate. Her husband is still there. The last contraction she had a little dribble of amniotic fluid, so I think we're getting close! I imagine I will be getting a call sometime tonight, so I have my phone ringer turned on extra loud. Her midwife had given her evening primrose and blue cohosh to speed things up. Oh my did it work! It was almost an immediate pick up of contractions. I feel so bad for her. She is definitely in some serious pain, but nothing out of the blue.

I'm just thankful that you have so far skipped the obligatory Goat Board "Think the baby's coming here's her Hoo-Ha!" Pic!!

But remember that the baby isn't real until you post a picture!! (A pic of the baby, not the Hoo-Ha!)

Honestly sex works so much better to speed up a sluggish labor! But then not many men can do the deed as the wife contracts or it may make the contractions too hard. She is going to need serious encouragement when the time comes and she is at 9 and almost ready to push and she is so tired of " doing this" ! oh how I have said that many times!
