That is pretty dang cute...he is being so gentle with them. My Nigerian buck is pretty easy going, so probably would be okay with him, but never would I trust my mini alpine to be anywhere near babies! He is wayyy too rough!

Rumor has it, Junior's actually a shaggy dog disguised as a goat.

He's used to being with a herd, and he's seen tons of babies before. I separated him and the wethers from the herd at kidding time (mostly to stop them from harassing the does as they kidded) but he was just on the other side of the fence.

I could have sworn that he didn't get in with the does until mid August. Kids look full term, though, so I must have missed something or forgotten to write something down.

These babes are Buttercup's Cygnet--- and they are doing just fine. The little girl already runs up to us in the pen to be snuggled and fussed over, the boy is a little more mister independent.
