IF they are all bred, Mudge is due on March 15. Snicket and Vinnie on April 4. I plan to send blood in next week to get them tested. I have someone that wants to buy Vinnie and, hopefully, one of her doelings after she kids next spring, so I hope she settled.

I really want to get Winnie bred, but she still seems so small. She takes after her mother (Mudge) and she is just waif-like and dainty. I don't know if I should go ahead and breed her anyway or not. She was born in March and is probably 20 pounds lighter than her hog of a sister, Vinnie.

Have a Nigerian due next Tuesday who looks like she may be carrying quads. Hate Winter kiddings... it was an accidental breeding.

Hmm...I had to look it up!

Lady is due March 22nd (FF)
Adele is due March 23rd (FF)
Mia is due April 11th
Zoe is due April 12th
Nim is due April 13th (being sold before then)
Penny is due April 14th
Trinket is due April 18th
Briar is due May 4th (being sold before then)

Everyone except Briar is bred to our Nigerian Dwarf buck for mini babies (Bri is bred standard). We have one doe left to get bred and is she comes in to heat when she is supposed to then we are looking at around May 29th for her due date (she will be bred standard as well). That is our kidding line up! A bit later than I would have liked on some of the does but oh well what can you do.

Thank you for the info, Dona!

I've used CIDRs twice now. The first time, I put it in 2 does for live cover to an outside buck. One came back in heat, so I bred her to my buck instead-but she absorbed that pregnancy, so maybe she was not quite "right" last year. She's pregnant again, so hopefully she holds it this time.

The second time was on the doe from last year that it DID work on, but I tried an AI on her this time. Didn't take.

So, I have a small sample size, and was wondering what the normal success rate might be.

Mine start on Valentine's Day, hopefully. We have seven bred does between me and the next door neighbor. They rent the house from us, and our goats are all together in the paddocks that used to be my MIL's chicken yard. Hers will start kidding at the end of March, as I had to get home to Texas with the bucks to get hers bred.

Sometimes I think my life is kind of weird.

Oh, and I have a human granddaughter due in mid January.

I brought the buck over at the beginning of October and he has been running with them since. I'm thinking we should start kidding in early March and who know how long that will last.

I don't know how you guys do it-keeping them separate and then knowing exactly the date each is due. I guess I need to learn to make separate pens for them all and watch to see when the does are ready.

Next year ... I hope!

Millie - March 22

Ginnie - March 26

Cara - March 28

This will be our first kidding, and I am nervous...

Jersey cow is due March 16, the four sheep are due March 18th, 20th, 26th, and who knows about the last one... The only reason I know when the sheep are due is because I actually saw "the deed" this year - it usually happens in the stealth of the night with the sheep!

It's going to be a very busy few weeks...

Already had two kid in November. Savanna is due this weekend! Then I have Josie and Mayflower due in February. Then I don't know if I have any more due until April/May and still have some that need to be bred!

Pickles 2/21
Tilly &Spots 2/22
Loretta &Tammy 2/26
Fulla & Frolic 2/28
Chance & Jem 3/1
TC 3/2
Poppy 3/14

10 goats in one week. What was I thinking??? Poppy was a rebel. I was really worried that Jagger wouldn't figure it out again so I wanted lots of chances to rebreed if I needed to. I didn't breed Ali and Heiorun even though both of them are heavy enough now. I think it's more fat than size though.

What's bad is I think we found a house we want to buy and if we put an offer in now it will close kidding week. Do you think they would understand if I couldn't come in to sign papers because I'm up to my elbows in birth gunk?

Definitely have:
Pawnee due Feb 1
Cookie due Feb 6
Candy went into heat again after the time Skittles got her (thank the gods)
Decided to wait to breed Pebble's and Pearl
Want to breed Heidi to Monkey...should wait till she is in better form, but don't want to wait to long otherwise she would kid while it is hot...
Glad I have only 2 kidding out in Feb and both have kidded just fine before.
