That is so cool!! I would Love to have 1 of those too. Yep, extra Christmas presants for hubby this year & extra cookies too.
How did you ever come across something like that?
Will you be able to weigh your horses in that too if you leave a door open or not, never saw one work so I don't know?

LOL! One of my Facebook friends (Alpacamom) thought it was a shark cage and was wondering why I would need a shark cage living as far from the ocean as you can get!! Bwahahahaha!

All the pivot points moving freely? Did you calibrate it?

Everything is moving freely...I don't know what the pivot points are. I didn't calibrate it, but Boris weighed 75lbs at the vet a few months ago and he weighed 76 on this

Minelson,
That looks just like ours. We got ours from a retired pig farmer. It still works great. We use it on the dogs, goats, and pigs. It also works great to load the fair pigs into the trailer. DH straps it to the carry-all on the back of the tractor, we run them in, close the back door, and haul them to the trailer. Congrats on your score.

That's really cool.

A small livestock scale and a hay elevator have been on my list for a long time!

I got the elevator a few years ago. Again, I put a wanted to buy ad on craigs list and got one for $300. That was not a gift though

That's pretty much calibration, some known weight checked on the new scale.

Very nice present, that 300# Boer could even fit in it. Looked like three 100# weights?

We have two balance-beam scales: a light-weight lamb scale that gets used a lot and a big beast for adults that rarely gets dragged out. We check the accuracy using full dog food bags.

There are two 100 lbs and one 200lbs weights. I will only have to use one 100lb....for Frankie
He is already looking trimmer though .... it's easier to keep him on a diet without having a starving goat always at his side (Gretta) Poor guy really misses her keeping him warm at night I'm sure. No one snuggles with each other for some reason. It will be interesting to see what happens when it's 20 below.
