yesterday her neck went kind of stiff in the curled sleeping position. its not super stiff, we can straighten it to try giving her a couple handfuls of food. i cant tell if she is having contractions, she is still yelling. no more mucus either and i cant tell if i'm feeling fetal movement. i cant do this much longer, listening to her yell like this. it doesnt even sound like her anymore. if there isnt any change by saturday morning, i think i will put her down. the hubby might not be okay with it, but i'll shoot her myself if it stops her suffering.

So sorry Shayanna I wish you could get some clear answers as to what is going on with her.

I totally understand how you feel about stopping her suffering. My dog was dying of cancer and of course it was a weekend when I knew she would pass away. The vet acted like we were crazy for asking them to come out and euthanise her (this is our farm vet and we were willing to pay the fee). When that didn't work out I was so desperate that I asked my cousin to come over and put her down. He was going to come after church and thankfully she passed away on her own (after I drugged her up real good) before he got here. The moaning and barking were just too much for me to bear .

The only thing I would tell you is that goats don't always hang on like she has. Seems when I have found one down and sick that they pass away within hours. If you think she is in labor do you think a baby could be stuck and that is why she is so uncomfortable? At this point, I can't see what it would hurt to check her and see if there is a baby trying to get out of there. Hang in there

Sure sorry about your doe. I guess if I were in your shoes, I'd lube up and see what, if anything, is going on in there. If I did this, I'd make sure I had everything handy that I might need. If there was a baby within grabbing distance, I think I might go for it. If they are dead, it is only making her more toxic and uncomfortable. Maybe they are dead and she just can't get them passed.

May you be blessed with some kind of a good outcome.

Oh I'm sorry. I haven't been in your situation so I don't have advice
but it sounds like Sherry has some good words of wisdom.

Just know we're all thinking about you and Fern in whatever you decide

Well, I might sound like a wacko, but I'b bring her in the house or you go out with her. Lay with her ,pet her and love on her. If it's the only thing you can do, atleast make yourself feel like you are there with her,She will know and so will You.

You poor things! What a sad situation to be in. I would lube up and go in too. She's probably beyond caring whether there's a hand in her privates. Short of that it sounds like you're doing the best you can with what you have. Hopefully this ends with her kidding sooner than later.
