Bottle Jaw can feel hard from the sheer amount of fluid build up.
Speaking from coming from an area that is BPW heaven, so much so that UGA had taken note and did a great deal of research on.
What they found is that mega doses of Pyrentel worked better than anything else, Cydectin used at the point of sever anemia can cause a toxic worm load dump killing the goat, or even causing the goat to bleed out internally from all the worms releasing their holds on the intestine.
Cydectin as an injectible is what we used here to finally put the little buggers back in there place. I deworm 2x a year with the injectable, once after kidding and once before breeding per fecal and time to time I have to use safeguard for tape worms. I rarely have any major concerns involving worms, I say that because it took a while for me to get those skinny goats worms back in line and of course because I couldnt quarantine a couple of my goats got a few extra bugs.
It still amazes me I have went from weekly eye checks because I had to to be pleased with dark eyelids all the year around no matter whom I check.
Now, coccidia is another story for us.
Pretty, I cant say enough about the buck I bought from Pony Trail farm, I dont believe you will find a better buck than to get a buckling from them. My boy is sweet, easy with the girls and is quite the handsome devil. Of course I will also have his boy kids for sale very very reasonably this spring as I dont like a bazillion kids jumping on me so the boys go outta here just as fast I can make them.
Another bit of food for thought, if shows he doesnt have much resistance to getting a heavy worm load perhaps its time to look for a goat that can bring you resistance. With out him being properly maintained I know its hard to judge.
