But it takes ages to filter and I find that annoying.

What do you recommend?
I use white hankies that I purchased for just this task. As soon as I use one, I put it under the kitchen sink in a one-gallon glass jar that is filled with water and a splash of bleach. When the hankies are all used (I have 12 of them, so it takes 12 days), I throw them in the washer and wash them and dry them by themselves...no other clothes or fabric softener or anything. I've been using the same 12 for over a year. I thought that, perhaps, the bleach would wear them out prematurely, but it seems to be fine.

What a horrible life you have. You have pleasant evenings with friends who give you goats, but only if you take at least two, of your choice! And you live in New Zealand. The only other place on the planet I would consider moving to.

Thank you for reminding me to count my blessings Mrs H! Both DH and I have caught a nasty flu this week so I'm a bit in the dumps. Sometimes I get caught up in working and farming so much that I forget to stop and enjoy it. Fluffy baby goats are at the top of the blessings list today, as even with the flu I can sit on the hay and cuddle them.

I would like to visit the USA again, its soooo huge I wouldnt know what to see first! I only ever saw a bit of California and several other airports on my way to Canada. DH and I dream of riding a chopper across the states one day - now that would be an awesome holiday.

That would be an awesome holiday! I've only seen a little of my own country! I would like to go on a huge road trip with our family, and see everything!
We live in North Georgia, which is very lush and green, (mostly) with mild winters.
Fluffy baby goats are so wonderful! I would definitely count them as blessings. I always look forward to kidding time!

That reminds me of a story I heard from a friend that works at a ski lodge in Aspen, Colorado. A couple from the U.K. were coming to vacation there. They decided, after their plane landed in New York, than instead of taking their connecting flight to Denver, that instead they would rent a car and drive, so as to see some of the country. So they called up the Resort and told them what they were going to be doing, and that they would be in the following evening.

The next night they called, and said it would be another day.

The third night, the gentleman phoned in and said, "Actually, we will be there, we just do not know when. It seems that we have seriously underestimated the size of America."
