Unfortunately Katie there is no way to keep them out of their unless they stay out with the coyotes. They stayed in my chicken coop last night until I can replace the door. They can't live in the chicken coop..I know who is doing it so at least I only have to muzzle 2, one is the instigator and the other is the follower. I wish it was one of the butcher wethers so the problem would be solved in a few weeks.

Rub some tabasco sauce around the edge, I bet they leave it alone then.

You can try it...but have to say that mine love tabasco sauce...and hot peppers. I tried that on some trees back at our old place and it didn't work. Maybe some dewormer would work lol!

I bought hot cinnamon oil and rubbed it all over the trees it didn't bother them at all. The fumes from it made my eyes water!

OMG... and I was just panicking because my goats ate the chicken/layer mash. At least they haven't eaten the bag (yet)... guess I better get out there before they eat the truck.

I've seen horses do this to maple trees... suddenly one takes a taste test and tells the others "hey guys... this is SWEET!"... next thing, girdled tree. If they girdled more than 50% of the bark the tree will have a hard time making it.

I painted that pruning black tar stuff on it, fenced it in, and I'm hoping for the best!

Here is one link for the muzzles:

Katie, the muzzles are made of nylon mesh, so the goats can still drink while wearing them, they just can't eat.

Or mix cayenne with enough dish soap to make a paste. It was the only thing that stopped my board fence-eating Curly mare in her tracks. Just don't use any more soap than necessary--can't be good for them...

I tried straight dish soap thinking it tastes terrible and it attracted them like bees to honey. Who knew goats love dish soap? I tried bitter apple for dogs and it didn't faze them. I am on my way to get some habaneros to grind up and slather on. I'm replacing the door but I need to stop the habit before I buy a new door. Strangely my husband didn't say a word he just shook his head and walked away.

Oh, what a good hubby. He needs a cookie.

Have you tried slathering it with Replamin? My goats would run from it!

You know, I broke a dog from jumping up on the couch by putting upholstery tacks through a piece of cardboard and laying it on the couch. I wonder if you could nail a piece of cardboard with tacks over the hole. They would probably eat the cardboard tacks and all.
