If you had something like my DH and DS had they only had the toilet end of it for about 3 or 4 days. The cramps lasted about 5. After that it was just extreme weakness. It took him weeks to get over that. Make sure you take it easy.

DH started craving raw sauerkraut juice around day 5 or 6. I think his body needed the enzymes. He drank a few tablespoons of that and kefir whey a day. If you get to the "I want something but I don't know what" stage around day 5 try something with probiotics. This was just our experience. You may not have the same thing they had.

Hope you're back to normal soon.

I am back from the doctor's office. She said there is a bad stomach bug going around and put me on Cipro. She was NOT thrilled when I told her I had to be healthy enough to fly to California for my son's wedding on Saturday, but she thinks we can get me fixed up by then.

I have discovered that I don't really like applesauce, which is a mainstay of the BRAT diet for recovering from diarrhea. BRAT stands for Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast.

I'd really like a steak, thank you.

At least my appetite is back.

At least you know - kind of - what you have. I second, third and fourth the rice water! It really helps things feel better.

I really do hope you are on the downhill slope of this rollercoaster ride. I hate to take antibiotics but sometimes they are necessary. I see a really yummy steak in your near future!

I'm glad you got the med's you needed & the doc's got you on the mend. You'll be feeling much better by Saturday & can have a steak dinner in California.

I took the first dose of Cipro at 4:00 PM on Monday. By 9:30, the deep gut ache had waned!

No trips to the bathroom in the night.

No squirts yet this morning. (hope that's not TMI)

Planning on eating a small breakfast.

Awesome! Now that you have gone through a bowel cleanse, how much weight did you loose? I am really glad to hear that you are feeling better.

I was really disappointed about the weight loss. According to the clinic scale, I'm only two pounds down!!

Glad you are feeling better Alice! If you are on Cipro..I would definitely be taking probiotics or eating yogurt for the protection of your "good" bacteria.

I'll be saying a little prayer that you can make the wedding..and feel good doing it.

Sounds like your doing somewhat better already! I never seem to loose weight like most folks when I'm sick either Alice! That's always a bummer for me too.
