Okay, went back out with the girl's Doe Gatorade. Mardi has expelled MORE afterbirth and...that's it. So looks like the final tally is 3 girls, 1 boy. ~smiles~ I think Brie was trying to make up for all those bucklings in Feb.!

I'll get more pictures up later. ~smiles~ These are, indeed, for sale. They are 1/4 Spanish, 1/4 Boer, 1/4 Nubian and 1/4 Nigerian Dwarf. Their dams are terrific milkers. They should make any home cheesemaker really happy, as they would have super-high butterfat and make for meaty kids.

Izitmidnight, there is an absolutely sweet lady who adopted two of my goats from these girls last Feb., same sire, too. They live in the back yard of a lovely Victorian in the Historic District of Austin. They are housebroken and trained to leash, and boy does her son get funny looks when he is "walking his goats".

~grinz~ That is why goats are sweeping the "Urban Farming" movement. "Not enough land" isn't excuse. If you have the space for a couple of Labs, then you have the space for a couple of goats.

So tell me, why aren't you on your way to come get these babies? I have a clean, tested herd and the paperwork to prove it.

Okay, even MORE pictures!

Obi Wan:

Babies coming, Babies here! - Goats

Babies coming, Babies here! - Goats

This is Dottie, named so for obvious reasons:

Babies coming, Babies here! - Goats

Babies coming, Babies here! - Goats

Here is Angel. My cousin named her as she was coming in the door:

Babies coming, Babies here! - Goats

Angel on the left, and the littlest doeling on the right:

Babies coming, Babies here! - Goats

Another of the two, but a better one of the littlest doeling:

Babies coming, Babies here! - Goats

Here is the littlest doeling fast asleep:

Babies coming, Babies here! - Goats

The last, tiny doeling doesn't have a name, and I am coming up blank. Suggestions?

Very cute

Why are they all in your house? Don't their mommies miss them?

Cliff, I pull ALL babies at birth and bottle raise them. The Mommas bond to me instead. Today, they didn't even cry for the babies, but they DID cry for me.

However, if I left them with their mommas, and then sold them in a couple of weeks, or a couple of months, their mammas WOULD cry for them. For DAYS. In DESPAIR. I did that one year; I won't do it again.

My crossbred kids tend to go to the home milker market or the pet/weed-eater market. (Don't mind selling wethers or bucks for cabrito, and have had people ask for that, but so far, the ones that were actually BOUGHT ended up in pet/weedeater homes.) So, super friendliness is a plus for my market.

I have to have written approval from everyone whose property butts up to mine. That is 6 people. If even one dissaproves then I can not have any, even if they are indoor pets. The fines and penalties are very high. This city is trying to hard to be NYC! Or I would be there in a heartbeat! But you are on my radar for that day that is coming....hopefully in the next year or two.

Dottie sure is a healthy little girl! And with TRI-COLOR spots! And the littlest doeling is currently curled up in my lap, sound asleep.

You see, I need ya'll to save me from myself....because already DH and I are rationalizing why we should keep them ALL. LOL DH says, "We do a LOT of cheese, and the high butterfat would be great for that. They'll be easy keeper. You KNOW their dams are starred....if they produced even half as much, they would be good milkers. And they are so *cuuuuuuute*" (Try picturing a man's DEEP base voice squealing like a girl.)

Even the boy. In spring, when I had EIGHT boys and only ONE girl, it was easy to say, "Nope, sell 'em all." But with just *one* boy? "Yanno, we could wether him as a companion for next year's bucks......." LOL

Everyone one of those babies are precious!! I wanted to say I really Love Obi Wan, & Angel but I love them all!
Does Angel have 1 frosted ear & 1 solid ear or is it the picture/angle?
That littlest doeling is a cutie too.
Congratulations on 2 easy births & nice healthy babies!
