Well, my MIL has two sons but the other one lives in AR not OR...LOL!

It is REALLY bad. I was nursing my EIGHTH child and she proceeded to explain to me his need for water, and food, and that I needed to give myself a "break" from nursing and feed him food (when he was 6 weeks old). At that point I smiled and nodded and went on about my merry life....

Four children later, we don't even speak...ever. I've never had a harsh word with her...but it's best for everyone this way...you know?

I understand both. My MIL was still trying to convince my husband to divorce me and "marry a nice girl" after 16 years! My husband explained it to a couple of our friends, "Caliann has always been civil and courteous to my parents; it is a shame that the reverse is not also true."

After the last plea to divorce me, hubby finally asked her why she hated me. Her explanation was that something I had said when I was *25* seemed disrespectful to her, although she doesn't remember what I said.

Ummm, yeah. We don't talk.

You could put a luggage carrier on top of car and goat in back end and then not have to move all the seats around.

I am married to the adored youngest son and my in-laws make me feel so loved (even though it took several years before they felt I was "worthy" of said youngest son, they were still always nice). I have close family with in-laws like you describe. ugh.

Of course, my initial thought was that Caliann was describing my " future daughter-in-law's mother-in-law", but I seriously hope that the lucky girl feels about me as I feel about my Dh's family. (Ds is the one who took on extra chores tonight to make sure Dh had a date on our 25th anniversary - my adored youngest son is growing into a very wonderful young man... Lucky future daughter-in-law. She probably doesn't deserve my wonderful son! Only joking.)

Okay. OT. But, still fun.

We have a roof top luggage carrier that was given to us. From the sound it makes when we move it, we think that the keys are locked in it.

Maybe it is time for Dh to call his locksmith friend.

I thought it looked like a great idea too until other people started posting the potential hazards. That is what is so great about this group.
