Crystal, I really don't know, as I have never come across one!
But I keep having people tell me, "Oh, you have Alpines? They are so mean and aloof!" Or, "Why on earth did you get into those stand-offish, aloof Alpines?"
I have just shaken my head. I don't know where they got their information, and I don't know what goats gave them such an impression, but *I* have never experienced an Alpine like that!
The loudest and most persistent goat in my herd is Nipper, a registered Alpine. Runner up is Brie, a grade Mini-Nubian. Nipper is ALMOST as loud as Gretta, a Nubian we used to have. None of them are/were as loud or persistent as a Nigerian Dwarf doe we used to have.
My cuddle bunny is Cypress, who IS aloof and stand-offish...to other goats. But she will stick to me like glue any time she can and REALLY wants to be a house goat. To the point that she housebroke HERSELF. She will also follow me anywhere, completely ignoring where the herd is. She'd rather be with me than with other goats.
~grinz~ ALL of my goats, however, EXPECT big, encompassing hugs, scratches, and praises BEFORE they will set a single hoof off of the milk stand.

If they don't get their hugs, scratches, and praises, when they are done milking, they think they have done something wrong and are being punished... so we always make sure they get them, even if they *have* been naughty.
