Nubians have higher butterfat on average, and they are pretty decent producers. My Nubians have been really good, and I get lovely reports back on the gals I've sold.

When milking Saanens, Nubians, Lamanchas and Alpines, my family(without knowing whos milk was whos), always preferred the milk from the Nubians and Lamanchas over the Saanen and Alpine. The Saanen, Alpine milk was GOOD. But they thought the Nubian, Lamancha milk was BETTER. Personally, I think its a bit what you are used to and personal taste. People who like Jersey milk tend to like Nubian, Lamancha milk better. My friends who drink Holstien milk and storebought milk, they prefer the taste/flavour of the Saanen, Alpine milk.
Each individual is different within the breeds. So taste the individuals milk before buying.

The lady that was buying my saanen's milk said it tasted just like the raw cow's milk she had been buying. But the taste to me seemed the same from my nubian except I had more cream for my coffee, was able to make butter...OH I burped more on nubian milk lol, my DS said Pawnee's milk was sweeter and did not have an after taste like Sugar saanen did.
