I'm so sorry You did everything you could if it was a blockage. Sometimes, no matter how much we try, it just isn't meant to be.

I know it likely wouldn't have made any difference in the outcome, but you can call me any time day or night Betsy and if nothing else, I will happily sit up and worry with you. *hugs*

Thank you all so much for your kind words. It means a lot. I am still numb.

I just spoke with the vet. He said that, since the swelling was not as extreme as we would have expected with bloat and, since there was no feces when my neighbor examined Cami, it was probably a (he used the technical term) twisted gut. He said that, depending on which side it was on, prognosis is not even good with surgery. Based on what we knew and the fact that surgery wasn't possible at the time, all we could do was treat her for bloat and hope that was it.

Sometime yesterday evening, when oil and walking weren't working, I commented to DS that it sure wasn't responding like bloat and he mentioned that Cami had been involved in some pecking order wars the day before....

It helps to know that it wasn't anything I did or didn't do - loosing her is really hard, but having you all here has helped very much. Thank-you!

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss, having just suffered a loss myself I know how much it hurts, especially when we try so hard to help them. You did everything you could, and are a good goat mama. Hugs & prayers!
