I know, it is harder to loose a doeling, the bucklings are never going to live with us long term, this year they are all going for meat. I was keeping all the doelings from this particular doe. Even when I sell doelings I usually get updates and pictures, which I love.

Sorry Pony about your loss, it is the hard part of having a farm. I shouldn't have gotten attached to mine since she was never right since birth and she only lived about 24 hours but it's hard when you cuddle something and tube feed them, you just hold out hope.

I am so sorry for your loss. I agree this is the hardest part of owning any animal. Ones that die are hard but putting one down I think is the worst.

I am so sorry you guys . You gave her the best shot at life and even though it was cut short it sounded like she had a great one. You are so right though that doing the right thing can sometimes be the hardest thing. (((((hugs))))))

If it wasn't for you and Laura, we wouldn't still have Seamus - and you were such an incredible help through the whole ordeal with both him and Trinity. Not enough words in the language to say "THANK YOU!"

So, sorry Pony! It is always so hard to loose one! Especially one that has stolen your heart!

Nick did a great job!

I've followed the story of these babies and you two have done everything humanely possible. Sometimes it's just not meant to be. I'm so sorry...

Or the FF with the best teats, that gives the most milk that only had bucklings when she freshened the ONE time and that your husband loves the most that he calls "his goat". DD(16) found her Thursday morning...down. I am within days of giving birth...out in the milk barn rolling her back and forth, drenching with baking soda, giving C&D antitioxin orally and SQ. Banamine both ways. Rubbing, rubbing, rubbing. Only to lose her in my arms after about an hour of this. I broke down into puddle on the ground and they literally drug me to the house.

I am sorry, Nick, and and know what you have invested in those babies the last few weeks. The highest highs and the lowest lows....yes.

Oh, I am so sorry! It's the ones that you love best, and work on for HOURS in their distress...
