You're not biased at all are you?
I can't wait, no matter what we get! This is something I've been waiting and researching for two years now, we're finally on an acreage and building our new barn right away. I'm so excited that it's finally coming together, feels like I've been waiting forever!

Next week, I will have *one* registered LaMancha.
I now have:
One LaMancha Saanen cross.
One MiniAlpine.
One Alpine
Two Alpine Saanen crosses
Two Mini Alpine Mini Mancha crosses
One Alpine doeling
I've also had a couple of unidentified minis, and one totally AIRHEAD Nubian.
If I had more room, I'd get a Toggenberg. They are LOVELY animals.

I have NDs, Nubians, LaManchas, mini-manchas....
You love LaManchas! They and the NDs are my husband's favorite. We hand milk everyithing here (even the cows). The NDs are not a problem for him at all.
I got a NEW custom ordered and built milkstand yesterday. He claimed it!
Brought home two new LaManchas "in milk" and he claimed them TOO!! We were running short on milk.

Man now I'm really unsure! I really honestly do love the idea of mini-Manchas, they just seem like the best of both worlds to me Not to mention that I love Nigerian Dwarfs more than any other breed (in looks anyways) but I'm 5'9 with not-small hands which is the only reason I'm not getting Nigerian Dwarf does.
I really don't know how to justify the cost of importing bucks though, I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap! Maybe I'll go get a Nig Dwarf wether to keep with my does though, then I still get my cute little goat fix.

If I were you I would skip the NDs and stick with LaManchas. I think that you'll be much happier with them and that you will have less trouble getting good quality stock. Just my two cents. Whatever you choose will be great, because goats are just great. Congrats!

Sounds like the solution! My beautiful MiniMancha has teats only about an inch long. Third freshener, so she's had time to mature. She's the only one I have to use a machine on.

Thanks for that picture Alice, I haven't had a chance to see many mini-manchas, but I can imagine my back and hands would get sore trying to get under there to milk!
I'm so glad I decided to post here and ask you guys, the more I think about what everyone's told me the better I feel about sticking with LaManchas (except for maybe a nigerian dwarf wether for my heat-tester pet!)

Took a look at the breeders page. Not much help on the pedigree, Nubians here and since they are Canadian, its hard to reference. She seems to know what she is doing and has been doing it for awhile which is good. Using a Kastdemur's buck that she brought up. But it looks like he has been her sire for the last few years, so any buck you get will be related through him to the does you are getting. Not saying that is bad, its linebreeding and we do it all the time, but you need to know what to look for, faults and such that might pop up in any kids you breed, and I would not recommend keeping a closed herd based on those genetics.... you need another bloodline introduced.

She is everyone's favorite goat, but this is why I can't milk her by hand....

Alice, that picture makes my hands cramp!
Natural Beauty Farm: Her website isn't up to date, she said she has 12 does freshening this spring, and she used 3 different bucks. The does from a couple of the bucks (all 3 bucks come from different genetics) have already freshened and she said she has one beautiful buckling that is different genetics from the 2 does I'm getting, and she said she'll have to see on what else she has when her kidding season is over.
I've been clear a few time now though that I want 2 bucklings (or at least one then I'll get him a wether friend) that are unrelated to the does that I'm getting so I'm pretty confident that I'm not getting linebred animals.
