I enjoyed reading Laura's information on the subject.
It will be my first time also this year, so I have read some and watched some videos.

Let us know how it goes. You will be fine, probably!

My Saanens have to be disbudded between 3 & 7 days of age. My Guernseys can often wait as long as 10 days because their horn buds are not as big and do not grow as fast. When I had Nubians, their horn buds were slow to come in compared with the Saanens.

I was so nervous this year because this was the first time I tried. It was not as hard as I thought, but I didnt do as good of a job as I had hoped. We will have scurs on the bucklings. Im not gonna burn them again, but I learned from this and I'll do it again next year. The doelings look good so far (it's been about six weeks). You have to start somewhere.
