Nancy I think I have Lactaded Ringers with 5% dextrose. Do you know anyone who could meet me in Mt Vernon? I can bring up a couple of bags. Coastal farm and feed has Biomycin if you need some. I can drive to Mt Vernon tomorrow morning if you need. I would also see about doing a cool enema to help hydrate and get her temp down. I don't know if I have enough gas in my car to get all the way to Seattle but I can check if you need me too. If I can help you with anything just let me know. I'll check the gas in hubby's car too.
My cell is 360-927-6193 if you need me.
Kris

When I had two does running that high of a fever I suspected pneumonia too, I treated using Tylan 200 and it worked like a charm. I had read that Tylan 200 is more commonly used for treating pneumonia and I at the time couldn't get Nuflor from the vet. Good luck with your girl, I am sorry you are dealing with that . I think sometimes it is worse having the adults sick than it is the kids.

Oh poor Nancy! Your up to you eye balls! I got your message and I'll call first thing in the morning. Figure out what is a good time and we will come down. Your obviously too busy to meet in Mt Vernon. Is there anything you need from Coastal? They have a ton if you haven't been before. I can pick stuff up on my way. Hugs I'll see you tomorrow!
If you ladies and gents have any ideas of what else I should grab for her let me know ASAP.

Thanks Nancy! I had a great time poop and all it was great meeting my soul sister.
Nanette (Nancy's doe) had kids that were nursing only one side. The other side was huge and rock hard. We hot compressed, massaged, and milked out that poor doe for hours. That was the most patient doe I have ever worked on. We litteraly only got 1 squirt of milk out for every 10 min of massage. We ended up infusing her with Today. The babies got a bottle or syringe fed to keep the strong until this get back to normal.

Nancy I forgot to tell you, you have to continue to milk her out in the morning afternoon and evening until her udder is back to normal. I would continue to infuse her with Today for 3 more days. You can also give her rather high doses of vitamin C to help her body fight this off.
Sorry I have goat brain!
Kris

You are all thee BEST!!
Normal temp but still not eating. Random rumen sound but not near often enough. Still gets B shots probious etc. Bought a bag of sweet feed she was getting last yr during milking. Wouldnt touch it.
Kris I got about 2/3 container out of her, no curds or blood. Can I feed it back to kids with the Today in in from yesterday? WHAT an oxymoron!!
Now what are "massive amounts" of C?
Never been here before; is it at feed store?
Dissolved 4 human ones in a syringe, amount being 2000mg.

Kris coming down was such a humongus blessing!! I realllly enjoyed her help, expertise & heart in all this! She was truly a breath of fresh air. Love ya Soul/Goat Sistah!

I'm so glad Kris was close enough to help. Sometimes it's frustrating to be unable to come help when you know someone needs it.

Last night a small wad of tissue shot out, about 1/8" long & a couple of pen points wide.
Doeling was previously unable to drink from that side so she gets supplement bottles. But this am her belly was reasonably full and for the first time Nanette was laying on the "bad" side.
Kris is gets to name her but anyway I got to see her chow, wagging her little tail. Yeehaw!

So sorry you have the flu Kris. I have Pen G on hand. The Bio mycin will give you the runs if you take it for more than a couple days.

And dont forget massive doses of vitamin C!!

Since your doeling had a fat belly this am do you think it's really necessary to continue the Today? I'd rather not dry her off if she's able to feed.
