Vet left with my husband to come back with more meds. He thinks she's toxemic and crashing. I've got a brooder lamp on her now. So he's given her some dextrose and cortisone and coming back with vit A/D inj. and Calcium inj. All I had on hand was CMPK paste. Vet says what I thought was urine was actually placental fluid....I'm thinking he must have meant amniotic. No idea if the kids are still alive....I kind of don't care at the moment. I'm more concerned with getting her well

I wish I would have acted a little more on my initial hunch this morning that she might be going toxemic.

Can you get CMPK injectable? With a temp that low, her rumen is shutting down and she may not be able to make use of anything you put down her orally.

I hope your girl pulls through. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

That's actually what my husband brought back from the vet's house was CMPK injectible. The vet didn't want us using the paste since she's foaming at the mouth and drooling

Thanks everyone....I think it's just a matter of waiting now to see if all this intervention works. I'm going to check on her here after dinner.

Odd I feel like I read somewhere that something can cause discolored urine in goats. Let me grab my laptop and see of I can find it.

Oh, gosh oh gee... oh, dear....

Praying for your doe, hoping for the best. Sounds like the vet is being helpful; that's a plus.

I went down to check on her after dinner and she's cold, stiff, eyes open. She had moved from where she was though. Too late to save the kids too NTM they were too early anyhow
