I'm so sorry for her passing;but when I go, I'd like to go like that, relaxed with a mouthful of food.

Oh my....
How absolutely awful this is for you.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved doe....I know I have some who are getting up there as well, my 1st girl who is not herd queen will retire from breeding this year.
Gideon btw is doing fantastic...I will have more babies to take pictures of soon.

(((HUGS))) I'm so sorry for your loss. Two weeks ago I lost a buck, he was fine at feeding the evening before and gone the next morning at feeding.. no sickness... no warning.

It's so nice to have this board, a wealth of information and truely wonderful understand goat lovers, especially in times such as these.

You're in my toughts and prayers,
Valerie

I grieve your loss.
I give thanks for the life Jenna led, for the joy that she brought, for the legacy she leaves.
And,
I grieve your loss.

<<hugs>>

Your post brought tears to my eyes as I lost my oldest herd queen just two weeks ago at 11 years. I wish it had been a quiet passing like Jenna's. Feeling your loss and heartbreak. Hugs to you.

Susie,
I am sorry I am so late in offering my condolences. I have been in Springfield for two days dealing with our 2yo DD and what to do about her newly started siezures.

I remember you telling me these were her last kids. I am so sorry. Really sorry. You and Jess have to hang in there to teach your new (2-legged) grandbaby to love goats as much as you two do!!

Some days are hard. I have had so little sleep lately that I don't know what day it is. I pray tomorrow is better for us both and that your arms are filled with beautiful, new, long-eared wonders.

Sleep well,
Gena

Your goat girl looks like such a grand ole gal. I know you will miss her deeply..because you loved her deeply. That's why you will stay in goats..you love them and they love you. Not everyone is blessed to have such relationships. You are special and have been chosen to have close relationships with God's great creations.

I wish you many fond memories of Jenna and many great grand kids of hers to come. I also wish you a dulling of the pain you feel now.

When I lose one of my animal friends..and I weep and mourn them..I thank God that I feel such feelings. Many people do not get invested emotionally with their animals..and I think they miss so much.

I am so sorry Susie for you loss. She was a beautiful goat & it sounds like it was her time for reasons only God knows but she knew how much you loved & cared for her & you had 10 very good years together & will remember all the good things when the pain subsides.
Hugs to you & I'll have a cocktail with you tonight if that will help!

I'm sorry that you lost a dear friend. What a peaceful way for her to pass on. Snuggled up and munching on a mouthful of hay. No suffering, no pain, no hard decisions on your behalf that so often happen with our oldest and dearest friends. It was truly a beautiful way for her to pass. And to have so much of her blood in the herd, she will live on in your pasture and barn. *hugs*

another day and life goes on... we are doing much better emotionally today.. Jenna's passing was so quick & peaceful.. I would wish it that way, for all my old gals (hey, I'd like to go that way.. maybe with a mouth full of oreos, instead of hay LOL)... the saddest part for me today, is thinking about the loss babies.. they were only a week from day 150.. they would have been viable, if we could have seen it happen. (in truth, only 2 of the stalls in the kidding barn have cameras.. I had does due to kid in both.. so even IF I'd moved Jenna to the kidding barn.. she would have died in the stall NEXT to the one I was watching - that would have been a case of guilt I would NEVER get over)...

None of the three that are due today have gone yet.. tomorrow is suppose to be sunny, so I gave induction drugs this morning.. we were up again (3rd night) every hour on baby watch.. if I can get these three delivered today/tomorrow... we can get a few nights worth of real sleep.. BEFORE the next wave begins on wed..

AGAIN.. I thank you ALL so much for the kind words, the beautiful thoughts.. for just understanding... It's nice having some many caring friends...

susie (who feels wrapped in loving cyber hugs)
