Be sure to let us all know if there is anything we can all do to help.

Oh. My. We were hoping, too that it wasn't something like this. My dc & I had the privilege of meeting Loretta last summer and she is a truly gracious lady. Prayers going her way for a good and complete recovery. Please let us know if there is anything she needs.

Ohh noo! Praying hard for her.
As you all know I just lost my father last week. He had a stroke with very non-typical symptoms although I strongly suspected it in the ER. The symptoms he had that made me think he had a stroke were confusion, delerium, lethargy, speech that sounded like he was very doped up. Not meaning to hijack this thread, just adding that sometimes the symptoms of a stroke aren't as one would think. Very scarey.

I just read it and prayed

I hope all is well with Nehi as well! Folks as well as all the wonderful information LADA gave us, please remember that if you suspect a stroke in someone, get them to take 1 aspirin immediately. If an aspirin can be taken within the first 1 to 2 hours, the permanent damage can be reversed almost within 6 hours. Also, KEEP TRACK OF THE TIME. It is of the essence in strokes. After 6 hours, permanent damage becomes much more likely because they can't give TPA, which is tissue plasminogen activator and it stops the paralysis and facial drooping and beings to reverse it. BUT it needs to be given within like 3 hours after the onset of the stroke.

About sending cards.....they are moving her to a different hospital in the next day or so. After that, I'm sure we can send cards to her room. She said that would be fine. I'll see about getting the address then.
