Well, let's break it down:

Fe = ferrous

So that's "of or having to do with iron."

Mail = post

Iron posts.

I can and do chuckle about spelling and punctuation. However, being both spelling and punctuation challenged; I will be much more cautious with my posts. Further, I hope our lurkers don't feel they need to be "letter perfect" to post here....

I love seeing ads for Rode or Road Island Reds, or Bard Rocks. I saw one today for a horse who can be road by a beginner.

Bee, nope, don't need to be letter perfect, but if someone is trying to sell something, it really helps bolster the confidence of your potential buyers if the seller can spell what they are selling. If I look at an ad for goats and see that the breed is spelled wrong and the terminology are wrong, then I will assume the people know nothing about the goats they have, including what they need as far as proper disease prevention,nutrition, etc. After all, if the seller had taken the time to research and learn those things, then they would also know the proper spelling and terminology for the breed and type of goat that they have.

Pony, iron posts eh? Well at least that part is cleared up. I'm thinking irons posts don't burn well though.

The thought of iron posts put me in mind of Narnia.

I think I shall re-read some Lewis when I finish my current "fun" book.

Another that gets me every time is shepard, sheppard, etc. It is SHEPHERD. Shep like sheep and herd like a herding dog. It's not hard!

Would a Bard Rock be a chicken with a Shakespearean bent who enjoys a certain kind of music?

And how about all those "gilding" horses (are they gold plated?) and guilding horses (what guild are they a member of, anyway?). And strawberry rone, roam, and rome? And the one on today selling a "APPALOSSA..."

How about the mair, mayor, mayers out there? Or the withers, which I thought were a part on a horse but apparently are actually neutered male goats.

This is so funny as I went to this sale. Dustin might not know how to spell but he had a great sale with all the goats and sheep he listed. We drove 4 hours and only picked up a little Nigerian doe as the prices were over the top. Good thing we took some cattle to sell.

What Oak Bucket said. If you care enough to sell something on Craigslist, care enough to pay attention to your appearance on it.
