It was the beginning of November so it will be about 2 1/2 months. She seems fine when I rub her down but I'm not rubbing hard. What concerns me is the little bit of bloody discharge that is dripping out and it's kinda swollen. She did get up a little bit this afternoon but still droopy. She could not have eaten anything cause we keep her in a big pen. We have too many coyotes around here. Where can I get benemine? Can she have it if she still is preganant?

Sorry about you doe. I'd give her a half dose of banamine (get it from the vet) twice a day (am/pm) for the pain. Then I'd wait a couple of weeks and send some blood to biotracking and see if she is still pregnant.

Yes, banamine is an RX but you can probably get your vet to sell you just a few CC's. It's a pain reliever, fever reducer & can bring down inflamation. Good stuff, & it might help her feel better so she'll get up & eat a bit.

At 2.5 months the fetus is still less than 3" in length. We are talking about a large mouse. Still something that could easily be lost in a field or get buried in bedding. Most of the growth occurs near the end of gestation.

Thank you to all for your help. Nanny miscarried in the night. There is a large puddle of placenta and 3 little fetuses. So now what do I do? She is up and eating and besides being sad looking like she feels fine. Her vaginal area is swollen a little.

Do I give her anything?
Can I still milk her or do I need to dry her up?
How long until she will go into heat?

I am so thankful for this forum an all of you!

I'd just milk her and see how it goes. The hormone shift of the miscarriage may bring her milk back, just as if she'd give birth at full term.

I'm so sorry you lost the kids.

I don't know when she will cycle again. It's kind of late for some breeds, but Nubians are a wee bit different in that respect.

So sorry for your loss but it's good they are "out" now
You can put some preparation H on her hoo-hoo to help with pain or swelling. And lots of TLC...

If she is going to go back into heat, it will be in the next few days - don't breed her. count 18 days from that and start watching - you can breed her on that cycle (if there is one - some nubians will cycle through February, some won't.)

If you don't want summer babies, wait until August or so when she comes back in - you may be able to milk through.

I first want to say I am very sorry for the loss of her pregnancy. And I really hope this doesn't sound horribly insensitive but could you tell us how big the fetuses were? 'For future reference' kind of thing.

The sacks were about the size of a man's Thumb maybe a little bit bigger. I was so surprised at how small they were. We did not open the sacks. There were 3 as far as I could tell. The previous owner said her last 3 years were all triplets. This was her 4th year.
