Update:

Well, she isn't better. She isn't worse. Gave her a foot soak yesterday then trimmed the hoof (along with the rest) as far back as I could - none of them look even remotely problematic. When she stands she still behaves like that one foot is bothering her.

Went ahead and dewormed her, am pumping her full of Thiamine, and Magic, just in case she is going Toxemic on me. I will be going to town today to get the test strips so I will know for sure.

I was going to say trim her hooves & check for founder.....but you did that. Are you still thinking shoulder or the hoof? If the hoof maybe a ichthamol compress/poultice see if you can draw any bacteria out.

Might still be sore from the rock, kind of like a stone bruise.

Leaning towards hoof as she seems to baby it when she is up, much more likely to be up on her knees than her feet.

Do I just put a big globber of the salve on the hoof (totally covered of course) and wrap it up?

Yes. Apply it several times a day & of course keep it clean.

If you don't have Icthamol there is a lime-green salve you can purchase in the horse section, I can't recall the name right now. Both are good for drawing things out, like slivers/bacteria/infection - it's used on horses for hoof abcesses and works very well, Icthamol can be found at the drug store.

Both take time though, a few days at least. Keep a baby wipe handy to wipe your hands or use gloves, that stuff is like tar.

May not be your issue but it crossed my mind.

At this point I'm willing to try anything that doesn't hurt her.

Noticed this morning she hadn't had much water. Started setting the bucket right in front of her each time I go out there, she has guzzled each time I do it. Will be spending lots of time doing that!
