It sounds to me (and this is just a guesstimate) that the

I received this from another goat loving friend. Sounds like it may be the case as there was some yellowish fluid that came out when I first cut her open. I will never know, so there is no sense beating myself up over it.

I am so very sorry. That just stinks on ice.

Looking to see what other folk have to share about the infection. Wow... what a nightmare. You are braver than I. I would have asked Nick to do the necropsy.
