Just last week I saw 2 does posted, one was on her 2nd "refreshening" and the other on her 3rd "refreshening". Also withered, boar/bore, and the terms nannies and billies bother me. And when people say they have to sale something. No, you SELL it. jeez

Long Horn red hens? Hmm, beef that tastes like chicken? Or milk and eggs all from one animal?

My very first day, I was like - I can't put these lambs into the system. Where is the option for Rams?! The owner looked at me like I was nuts. "Rams? It's right there - lamb, buck". Whenever I would refer to the rams as rams, the old farmers would look at me like I'd grown a horn. "You mean that old buck?"

Then again, they also talk about the "horns" on the deer in fall, and give you a dirty look if you call a heifer a COW, but they refer to all goats as billy goats... Except for does. Which are called nanny goats. All the others (even kids) are called billy goats. And they thought *I* was the stupid one!

We had some adorable Highland Cattle come through the sale once... A mild uproar went through the crowd... Look, a YAK!!!

It was about a dog but the worst CL listing i've ever seen was one that was a horrid prank someone tired to pull, i don't think i can post exactly what it said because this is a family forum but someone posted a pic of a husky claiming that they had to get rid of him because he wouldn't stop...umm....trying to "make babies" with their kid. And that one of the other of them were Wore out or something like that.

It was deleted some (short) time later and a post was put up saying they had been hacked, and they were not trying to get rid of their dog. (and that no one was being naughty with him either.)

Anyone ever post something on CL and then got mean/hateful messages about it?

That reminds me of the post someone sent a link to of the person renting themselves as whatever animal the buyer wanted that day, I think it was for 10/hr.
Weird.

Most common around here are chiwawas and terrors, in the pet section of course. In the livestock section, the one that annoys me the most is bores/Boars (when talking about goats). And its still a peeve of mine when people call their goats nannies/billies. And then every once in a while you see pictures of animals in bad conditions or just in bad body condition and you know they have no business owning animals.
