Sorry - didn't see the grey by the eyes. I wouldn't register her right away- she should darken as she gets older (so you feel certain of the Sable designation). Her nose is kind of smudgy grey too... Saanens' noses are white or pink.
And yes, if a white goat is born to a Sable, it is not a Sable - it becomes an Experimental Saanen. You can then either breed that doe to a Sable buck (hoping for color) and then start with an Experimental/Recorded Grade Sable at 50% or you can breed Saanen (almost guaranteed of a white goat then) and get 75% Saanen.
A wee bit confusing, to say the least! LOL
BTW, an Experimental Saanen is still a reason to celebrate!! Especially if the genetics are great!
