I mentioned to him that you might be calling and he said delivery would be easy to your place (I'm almost 30 miles from him...). When is he dropping it off for you? If you get it before I head to Sweetwater Tuesday evening, let me know what you think of it.... I hope it's leafy & not all stemmy.....Had nice Sudan last year, but I looked at some in Eula about a month ago that was awful stemmy & really dirty. Thanks for the tip on the alfalfa, I'll look for it.....Right now mine are still eating on rounds & I have one round not in the pens so at the moment they are fine, but I have nothing put back for winter yet.

hay in Idaho

new here. I live in North Idaho. we grow a lot of our own hay, but have to buy more to last through winter. thursday's classifieds advertised grass hay from 75 to 90 per ton, alfalfa/grass around 100-115, and alfalfa was around 125-165 a ton.
shannon
mom two 2 pet pygmy wethers, 3 paint horses, numerous poultry, bunnies, dogs and cats
ps using wood chips/sawdust for bedding as we get it free from the mill we work at, and straw is running anywhere from 3-7 dollars a bale.

Oak Bucket are you moving to Missouri? I have given a lot of thought to moving too. I sold all but 7 of my goats. Kept the two bucks, three does (one is Boer for meat) and two of the best doe kids. If I have to sell anymore goats, I may as well sell all of them. We were very fortunate to get some rain and the pastures have greened up quite a bit. I have a promise of hay from the sheep people so far so good.

In case you haven't heard, another "La Nina" has set itself up to get us again for this upcoming year.So-more of the drought. However, when there are a back-to-back La Ninas, usually, the second one is not as severe as the first.Hope so. I am going to plan for another hard, dry, winter;like last year.
