I would just keep an eye on them. If they have shade and a fan, I wouldn't worry too much, but if they look like they are overheating and suffering, then you could bring them in. I find that animals tend to be hardier than we think they are... but then again, 112 degrees is hot!

yes last week when we really had that heat wave. I was worried about my goats and sheep but they didn't look the slightest bit distressed. i just made sure they had fresh water. But they would go inside their pen to 'relax' or whatever they do, It has to be about 20 degrees hotter in there, than outside. I have no idea what they are thinking!

Would you do this? Or just hang outside with the garden hose and spray them down every half hour?
I would not do that. In our case, they could knock the house over (eaten 5 feet up by termites) and soil the carpet. Furthermore, 40 goats wouldn't fit.

The horses are another story...they are taking the heat much harder..but I can put the sprinkler on them to cool them down and they love it...my goats HATE the sprinkler.
Our goats did the same thing! Laying out there in the heat..but they have their rounds to make and that includes napping in the crib too. I don't think I would bring my goats in.

I'd just keep a close eye on them. I'd worry just as much about them going in and out of the cooler room. It seems easier to handle the heat if they're acclimated to it. I've been spending our hottest days at home so I can go check on everyone frequently.
