I had to look up commodity pellets, as I had never had heard of it. Found this page.

It looks like the pellets are different, based on which company is producing it. About $189 a ton, which is WAY more than I can use.

Locally here you can get either straight corn gluten or a mixture of wheat mids, soy hulls and corn gluten. The mixture of those three is what I get. It's HIGHLY palatable. High fiber. Good protein. I can't remember what I paid for the last load. Around here they sell it in a 'bulk ag bag' which has to be loaded on a forklift onto the bed of my truck (a regular full-size pickup). The bags hold anywhere from 1200 to 1500+ lbs. They are very stable, I keep them in barrels and they stay pretty fresh for a couple months. They are the cheapest thing you can buy, but as I mentioned before I like how my goats do on them better than the Blue Seal or anything else I've done. I know a couple friend who have tried a locally-milled organic, soy-free feed and they said their goats milked less on that than the conventional feed. I was sad to hear that, I have considered the organic grain even with the cost.

Most feed stores carry the regular Strategy but not the HE. Found 2 stores who keep the HE in stock....One sells it for $17.99 the other for $15.99.

I'm on the fence about this.....Purina Dairy Parlor is $12.99 but I have a very hard time getting it since I have to special order it & sometimes it doesn't come in and I'm stuck waiting another week.

Wonder how much I'd have to mix with my oats to make a difference?

I was mixing any of the other options with 1/2 Dairy pellet from Southern States at $11.99 -
same with the HE, but I am paying $12.99 for it at Ace Hardware.
